Virginia Nesseth

Virginia June "Ginny" Nesseth, age 66 of Cannon Falls, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2016 at The Gardens at Cannon Falls. Virginia was born on June 11, 1949 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Jannes (Hauge) and Robert Sundby. She graduated from Kenyon High School and married Roar M. Nesseth on September 11, 1971. She was employed with Cannon Equipment for over 30 years as a wire welder. She was a loving wife and mother, and devoted member of Our Saviour's Ev. Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, where she was custodian for many years. She was also involved with the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed walking, baking, doing crafts for others, making dish cloths, and doing puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially loved shopping with her daughter. She is survived by her children, Marcy (Steve) Zimmerman and Paul Nesseth, all of Northfield; grandsons, Kyle and Chris Zimmerman; brother and sisters, John (Monica) Svien, JoAnn (Ron) Peterson, and Jeanette (Blair) Baalson, all of Kenyon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 43 years, Roar on April 13, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. Funeral will be on Saturday, April 23 at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at Our Saviour's Ev. Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. Interment will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Paul Nesseth, John Svien, Steve and Kyle Zimmerman, Blair Baalson, and Justin Peterson.
