Virginia Langsdorf

Virginia Loraine Langsdorf, age 88 of Cannon Falls, died on Wednesday morning, March 26, 2008 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.

Virginia was born on May 8, 1919 in Hay Creek Township, the daughter of John and Edna (Stumpf) Veith. She married Leonard Eugene Langsdorf on March 11, 1938 in Iowa.

She and Leonard had lived in Red Wing until 1951 when they moved to the farm in Cannon Falls. She would remain at the farm until 1995. Virginia was a member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church. She had been active in many bible studies. She was also a member of the Goodwill Project Group.

Virginia loved gardening, canning and baking with the grandkids. Whenever the grandkids were sick they would go to grandmas for "chickie" soup. Her favorite saying was "Whatever works".

She is survived by one son, David (Elsie Ann) Langsdorf of Cannon Falls; one daughter, Diane (Charles) Grabow of Red Wing; 8 grandchildren, Terry (Connie) Grabow, Tom(Julie) Grabow, Christy Langsdorf, Cole Langsdorf, Amanda Langsdorf, Connie (Mark) Miller, Wendy (Kevin McGuire) Augustin and Dawn (Chris) Hadler; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also by her brother Dale (June) Veith of Red Wing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E.; her parents; son, William; 2 brothers Leroy Veith and Frederick Veith; 2 sisters Ione Finch and Elaine Brum.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 30 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Gary Schulz and Pastor Dorothy Sandahl officiating.

Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. and continue 1 hour prior to the service at church.Memorials are preferred to St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers will be Terry Grabow, Tom Grabow, Christy Langsdorf, Cole Langsdorf, Amanda Langsdorf, Connie Miller, Wendy Augustin and Dawn Hadler.
