Vic Parduhn, age 81 of Cannon Falls, died on Sunday morning, April 5, 2009 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
Vic was born on November 27, 1927 in Wahpeton, North Dakota, the son of Rev. Frederick and Anna (Bischoff) Parduhn.
He served with the US Navy from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1948.
Vic married Laura Bauer on September 4, 1949 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hill City, MN. He graduated from St. Cloud State College in 1951 with a degree in business education. His first teaching job was in Villard, MN. They came to Cannon Falls in 1953, and he taught at the Cannon Falls High School for 36 years, retiring in 1989.
Vic loved fishing, gardening, hunting, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Laura; his children, Vicki (Burt) Bemmels of Owatonna, Fred (Michelle) Parduhn of Red Wing, and Tom Parduhn of Loretto, MN; four grandchildren, Nicole (Corey) Carlson, Brooke, Lindsey and Christian Bemmels; and great grandson, Ephram Carlson; brother, Fred (Lois) Parduhn of Excelsior; sister, Hildegard Hanson of Moose Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons; his parents; two brothers, Paul and Harold Parduhn; and sister, Hedwig Dahlke.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church of Rich Valley, 14385 Blaine Ave E., Rosemount, with The Reverend John M. Moe officiating.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Nicole and Corey Carlson, Brooke Bemmels, Keith Pavek, Lindsey Bemmels, Jim Hammerand, and Christian Bemmels.
