Vernon Scott

Vernon LeRoy "Vern" Scott, age 69 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday morning, August 6, 2011. Vern was born on January 15, 1942 in Winnebago, MN, the son of Guy and Hazel (Snow) Scott. He graduated in 1960 from the Washington High School in St. Paul. He was employed as a window washer for the First National Bank in St. Paul, and later worked loading and unloading trucks for Midwest Motor Express. In 1987 he started working as custodian for the Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, retiring in 2007. He is survived by his sons, Keith Scott of Glenwood City, WI and William Scott of Inver Grove Heights; five grandchildren, Bailey, Coyan, Austin, Dylan and Riley; true companion, JC Kimmes of Cannon Falls; sisters, Ida Edgett of St. Paul and Carol (Chuck) Meyer of Little Canada; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Hazel Scott; son, Kurtis Scott; and brother-in-law, Bob Edgett. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 9 at 4:00 p.m., with visitation from 3-4 p.m., at First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Pastor Daniel Forsgren will be officiating.
