Tyler Bruce Helgren, age 21 of Cannon Falls, died on Wednesday afternoon, July 16, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Tyler was born on August 29, 1986 at Fairview Ridges in Burnsville, the son of Bruce E. and Jolynn M. (Roush) Helgren. He graduated in 2005 from the United Township High School in East Moline, IL. He later attended Dakota County Vo-Tech.
He was employed in Cannon Falls by Econo Foods and the Summit Golf Course. He loved his work, the people he worked with, and was very dedicated to his jobs.
Tyler loved the MN Vikings, and being the commissioner of the fantasy football league. He also loved the MN Wild hockey games, Twins, Timberwolves, and Gopher sports. He enjoyed Mountain Dew, going to movies, and going to Buffalo Wild Wings with his friends. Tyler was very good with children, and loved all of his cousins so much, and had so much fun with them!
He will be forever loved, and greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Jolynn and Kevin Kitterman of Colona, Illinois, and Bruce and Tiffany Helgren of Cannon Falls; brothers, Travis and Trent of Colona, IL; step brothers and sister, Patrick Daniels of Cannon Falls, Aaron Kitterman and Jenny (Gary) Abbott, all of Galesburg, IL; grandparents, Dolly Roush of Dundas, and Eugene “Jess” and Doris Helgren of Cannon Falls; step-grandparents, Ed and Mary Hanson of Cannon Falls, and Phil and Sally Kitterman of Galva, IL; aunts and uncles, Julie (Paul) Ashe of Hastings, Mary (Jeff) Lindell, Jim (Maxine) Roush, Mark (Tracy) Roush, Dawn (Brian) Wenker, Brian (Diane) Helgren, Troy (Terri) Hanson, Tricia (Scott) Durdahl, Todd Hanson, all of Cannon Falls, and Tim (Rayleen) Hanson of Port Charlotte, FL; special friend, Jen Peterson of Austin; and all of his special cousins; many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bob Roush; cousins, Korey Roush and Chad Lindell; and all of his great-grandparents.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Sunday from 1-2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Active pallbearers will be his best friends, Bobby Peterson and Adric Bergan, uncles Brian Wenker and Jeff Lindell, and cousins Erik Helgren and Nicholas Remme.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Hanson, Rodney Holst, Dan Kuhn, and Aaron Roush.
