Truman Lowell Skaro, age 83, passed away Friday morning, January 15, 2010 at his home.
Truman was born in the family home August 8, 1926 in Leon Township, Minnesota the son of Oscar and Annette (Melhouse) Skaro. He was raised and educated in Cannon Falls, later graduating from Cannon Falls High School. He was married to Joyce Underdahl on December 9, 1950. The couple made their home in rural Dennison, Minnesota where they farmed their entire life together. Truman loved to grow sweet corn for his family and friends, was a sports enthusiast, was a great supporter of his grandchildren in all things, and was proud of his Norwegian heritage. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Truman is survived by his loving wife Joyce; children Dennis, Deborah (Michael) Judge, Dawn (Lyle) Lorenson; grandchildren Jason (Erin) Lorenson, Jeffrey (Christi) Lorenson, Cory (Kiandra) Judge, Kelsey Judge; great-grandchildren Hunter Lorenson, Gavyn Lorenson, Kalynn Lorenson; sisters Shirley Prink, Beulah Jameson, Arla McWaters; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Joyce L. Skaro.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday January 18, 2010 at the URLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH 6940 Co. 9 Blvd. Cannon Falls, MN with the Reverend Arthur Sharot officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday January 17, 2010 at LUNDBERG FUNERAL HOME 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd. Cannon Falls, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Urland Lutheran Church and Lutheran World Relief-Haiti Earthquake.
