Theresa Davis

Theresa Angela Davis, age 79 of Cannon Falls, died at her home at Twin Rivers Senior Campus on Monday evening, July 18, 2011. Theresa was born on March 11, 1932 in Owatonna, the daughter of Peter and Agnes (Kubista) Reyant. She grew up in the Owatonna area and attended school in Owatonna. She married Donald M. Davis on September 26, 1953 in Medford, MN, and they farmed in the High Prairie area near Cannon Falls. Upon retiring, they moved in to Cannon Falls in 1992. Donald died on November 4, 2000. Theresa was a member of the St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. She served for a time on the Goodhue County Welfare Board. She enjoyed farming with her husband, gardening, cross-stitching, and baking, especially her Bohemian treats. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed the many family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and brother, Frank Reyant. She is survived by her seven children, Diane (Joel) Fox of Stanton, Doris (Ed) Wenzel of Red Wing, Gary (Pam) Davis and Kevin (Marlys) Davis, all of Cannon Falls, Carolyn Wenzel (friend, Bruce Barnum) of Lake City, Brenda Wright (friend, Bob Miller) of Hampton and Mark Davis (friend, Rayleen Duden) of Cannon Falls; 18 grandchildren, Jason (Shelli) Fox, Pauline Fox (friend, Corey Samuels), Bryce (fiance, Amanda Schumann), Nicholas (Jennifer) Wenzel, Abby (Chris) Schroeder, Peter Wenzel, Alicia Davis, Isaac Davis, Kellie (Ian) Goriesky, Cassie Davis, Brett (Rebecca) Davis, Brandon (Marlana) Wenzel, Michael Wenzel, Jamie (Brandon) Chipman, Cassandara Schuette (friend, Pete Lemke), Jeana Schuette (fiance, Brock Malloy), Matthew Schuette (friend, Kayla Fleming), and Anthony (Wendy) Davis; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashley Fox, Oliver Wenzel, Hannah and Ashlyn Davis, Evan Goriesky, Tristen Jensen, and Aiden Malloy; brother, Henry "Hank" Reyant of Cohasset, MN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Theresa Reyant of Owatonna, Jeanette (Martin) Hines of Mesa, AZ, and Marilyn (Clarence) Hines of Stanton; aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Jay K. Kythe celebrating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m., with a parish service at 7:30 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Fox, Peter Wenzel, Isaac Davis, Brett Davis, Michael Wenzel, Matthew Schuette, Anthony Davis and Bryce Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the Twin Rivers Senior Campus and Heartland Hospice of Rochester.
