Thelma B. Berkness

Thelma “Terri” Berkness, age 93. Of Cannon Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at the Gracepointe Crossing Care Center in Cambridge.

Thelma Berget Berkness was born on December 21, 1928, in Fosston, MN, the daughter of Tom and Gunhild (Moy) Thompson. She grew up and graduated from high school in Fosston. Terri then enrolled at Concordia College in Fargo, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and a Teaching Certificate. She was employed by the Betty Crocker Company, testing recipes, and developing cookbooks. In the early 1970’s, Terri was married to Loren Berkness in Minneapolis. The couple built a home in Eagan, where they lived until moving to Cannon Falls in 1993. Terri was a member of Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her stepchildren LoAnn, Wanda, Phillip, Steven, Jeff, Kristy, and Michelene, as well as many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Loren.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Nov 16, at 11:00 am sat Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30370 Co 24 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
