Sylvia Esther Louise Fox, age 84, of Sanibel Island, Florida and Cannon Falls, Minnesota, passed away on December 30, 2012 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.
She graduated from Rockford High School and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She was a loving mother of six, and grandmother of 28 and great-grandmother of 14. She was an accomplished artist, loved the outdoors, loved sunshine and the ocean, and was a woman of great faith. She is survived by sons: Ed Pettit, Frazee, Mn., Daniel Pettit (Dajovan), Mpls, Mn, daughters: Sherry Anderson, Cannon Falls, Mn., Heidi Pettit, Redmond, Wash., Beth Pettit Willis (Jamey Willis), Amy Carter (Byron Carter), Cannon Falls, Mn., sisters: Louise Hennen, Eustis, Fla., Carolyn Levine, Cedar Springs, Mich., brother Ken (Marilyn) Seifert, Annandale, Mn., and brother in law Ted Van DeCar, Seattle, Wash. and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Alexander Seifert, husband James Pettit, husband Frederick Fox, sisters Phyllis Quittem and Eileen Van DeCar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 Colville in Cannon Falls with a visitation for one hour prior. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Maryknoll Sisters or the American Red Cross.
