Steven Ide

Steven Roger Ide, age 54 of Randolph, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday afternoon, November 28, 2011 following a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born on August 21, 1957 in Red Wing, the son of Roger and Caroline (Anderson) Ide. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Central High School in 1975. He married Susan M. Betcher on November 24, 1979 in Red Wing. Steve enjoyed woodworking, trapshooting, and bowling. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and just experiencing nature. He loved the fall of the year, and also the holiday season. Family was very important to him, and he truly loved having his family gathered and spending time together. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sue of Randolph; four children, Stephanie (Chad) Hatfield of Shakopee, Candace Ide, Jon Ide and Samantha Ide, all of Randolph; grandson, Carter Ide; parents, Roger and Caroline Ide of Red Wing; sisters, Kathleen (Thomas) Ide-Nelson of Eagan and Kristin (Tim) Strusz of Lakeville; and nieces and nephews.

A gathering for friends and family will be held on Thursday, December 1 from 4-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will be a private family memorial service to follow. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephew, Emily and Zachary Nelson, Tiffany and Ashley Strusz.
