Sheila Ann “Nan” Murray, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Sheila was born the third child to Glenn and Berkley (Myhre) Markham on July 8, 1942 in Rochester, MN. She grew up and went to school in Kenyon.

She fell in love with Reuben Murray and they married in the Lutheran church in Kenyon on November 25, 1961. They lived in Hastings a short time but made Cannon Falls their home and had two daughters.

Sheila worked at Kid Duds for 20+ years and later got a dietitian’s degree. She worked as the dietary supervisor at the nursing home in Cannon Falls until her retirement. Sheila loved being with her family and weekend fishing trips. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary in Cannon Falls.

She is survived by her daughters, Karla Pietrzak and Jodie (Jim) Lamont, all of Cannon Falls; five grandchildren, Justin (Reah) Lamont, Jessica (Jeremy) Kirk, Josh Lamont, Sarah Pietrzak, and Jordan Lamont, all of Cannon Falls; five great-grandchildren, Ava Nyland of Minneapolis, Azalea Lamont of Spokane, WA, Lincoln Lamont, Morgan Kirk, and Grayson Lamont, all of Cannon Falls. She is also survived by her siblings, Lytana Derscheid of Kenyon, Darrell (Petra) Markham of San Diego, CA, Kurt (Carolyn) Markham of Punta Gorda, FL, and Brian Markham (Shelly) of Medford.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of over 52 years, Reuben; her parents, Glenn and Berkley Markham; brother-in-law, George Derscheid; and son-in-law, Richard Pietrzak.

Sheila enjoyed baking chocolate chip cookies and adored her dogs. She loved her God, her family (especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren), and her country. She will be missed immeasurably.

For everyone’s safety and health, masking and social distancing are required. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 2-4 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
