Ruth Meyers

Ruth was born on December 24, 1929 in rural Cannon Falls, the daughter of Alvis L. and Marie (Hoffman) Fox.
She married John J. "Jack" Meyers on June 2, 1948 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. She was a homemaker, and they also owned and operated Meyers Mini Market (formerly the Northside Grocery Store) for 17 years. She was later employed at Olson's Greenhouse, Midwest of Cannon Falls and Gemini until September of 2006. She was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church, and was active in the St. Theresa Circle of the CCW (Catholic Church Women). She especially enjoyed Mass, going to breakfast with her church group and spending time with her family.
The couple had been married 53 years, when John died on June 18, 2001. Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lois Ludwig and Florence Schaffer; brother, Francis Fox; and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas (Kay), Robert (Joyce), Anna (Terry) Burvee, Richard (Lola), Shirley (Dave) Weller, Pamela (Jim) Amacher, and Jacqueline (Steve) VanGuilder, all of Cannon Falls, Mary (Marty) Blel of River Falls, WI and Michael (Tricia) Meyers of Cannon Falls; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; her brother, Sylvester Fox of Welch; sisters, Patricia (Kenneth) Meyers and Judy (Bob) Peine, all of Cannon Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Jay K. Kythe officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Thursday after 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Ruth M. Meyers Memorial Fund.
Active pallbearers are Philip Meyers, Zachary Meyers, Eric Burvee, Danny Meyers, Darlene Weller, Desiree Lind, Amy VanGuilder, Alex Blel and Mitchell Meyers. Honorary pallbearers are her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
