Roy Kenneth Lindell, age 53, a lifetime resident of Cannon Falls, died unexpectedly on Saturday night, April 18, 2015. Roy was the son of Kenneth and Helen Lindell and was born on September 28th, 1961. He was baptized and confirmed at St Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Roy graduated from High School in 1979 and following graduation he attended Red Wing Vo-tech, graduating in 1981 with an associate's degree in HVAC. He worked for LeRoy McCusker for 5 years and A.J. Electric for 4 years after college before venturing out on his own. In 1991 he opened Lindell Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. out of his home. His hard work and dedication grew Lindell Heating & Air into the successful business it is today. For the past 11 years he worked alongside his son and business partner, Mathew Lindell. Roy really enjoyed working for the people in this community. Roy was a proud father of two very successful sons and a very proud grandpa, who enjoyed the role of being a "Gramps". Roy was an amazing man who lived life to the fullest always surrounded by his friends and family. He loved spending time outdoors especially motorcycling and was an active member of the Association of Independent Riders. Roy enjoyed many activities outdoors; boating, four-wheeling, snowmobiling – he looked forward to any adventure with his friends and/or family. He also enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen, and infant sister, Sharon Lindell. Roy is survived by his two sons, Robert Michael (Ana) Lindell of Cottage Grove and Mathew James Lindell of Cannon Falls, three grandchildren, Tori, Aidan and Gavin, and very special companion, Jill Schmidgall (Kadie). He is also survived by his brother, Glenn (Linda) Lindell of Chippewa Falls, WI, sister, Mary (Don) Cameron of Malvern, AR, brother, Denny (Carlonna) Lindell of Jordan, sister, Darlene (Roger) Newmaster of Oakdale, sister, Diane (Bruce) Erickson of Coon Rapids, and many nieces, nephews and a long list of good friends. Roy was a great man, wonderful father and grandfather, a fantastic friend and a pillar of his community who will be missed dearly by both of his sons, Jill, his family, numerous longtime customers and many great friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23 from 4-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m. at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Olson, Dick Safranski, Curt Hermanson, Don Graber, Kevin Davis, Steve Jacobsen, and Ken Eddy. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn and Denny Lindell.
