Roy Lynn Christensen, age 60 of Rosemount, and formerly of Bloomington and Cannon Falls, passed away of cancer at his home on Monday, December 17, 2007.
Roy was born on March 28, 1947 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the son of John "Everett" and Helen L. (VanderWal) Christensen, and grew up in Cannon Falls.
An entrepreneur at heart, he started his own temperature controls company in 1980, and ran a successful business until he was forced to retire because of his health.
After his family, Roy's greatest love was golf, and he particularly enjoyed his annual January trips to Phoenix with his special golf buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Everett and Helen; infant brother, Everett Dean; and two nieces.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda; son, Jesse of Eagan; and daughters, Jennifer of Plymouth, and Julie of Minneapolis; four brothers and one sister, Dean of San Raefal, CA, Janis Richards of San Jose, CA, Donald (Sharon) of Asheville, NC, Merle of Las Vegas, NV and James (Lihwa) of Cary, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 21 at their home at 13613 Crosscroft Avenue in Rosemount, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
A private family interment will have previously taken place at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Fatih Uckun, Dr. Sanda Morar, and all the staff at Parker Hughes Cancer Clinic, for their outstanding and devoted care.
