Ronald Campbell

Ronald A. Campbell, 77 of Cannon Falls, passed away on Sunday evening, January 3, 2010 at the Red Wing Health Care Center, following a lengthy illness.

Ronald A. Campbell was born November 9, 1932 in Saint Paul, the son of Irene Stella Campbell. He moved at an early age to Pipestone, Minnesota where he was raised and educated. He enlisted in the United States Army and served eight years in the infantry and as a paratrooper during the Korean War. Following the war he was employed by Armour Foods in South Saint Paul until 1979, when he went to work driving bus for the Metropolitan Transit Commission, retiring in 1996 after 16 years of service. He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Clark on November 7, 1987 in South Saint Paul. The couple made their home in Cannon Falls and in later years he worked part time for Rainbow Foods in Inver Grove Heights retiring in 2007. Ronald especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren, was an avid gardener and loved to cook.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Betty and daughter, Makayla A. Campbell, both of Cannon Falls; his daughter, Nicole A. Mansager of Eagle Bend and his son, Joseph C. Mansager of Woodbury; and his three grandchildren, Coty M. Mansager, Jordan C. Medina and Kalie Ann Campbell-Moline.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service with military rites at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, with the Reverend Dr. Randy K. Taber, officiating.
