They lived in Minneapolis for the next 3 years until moving to Cannon Falls where Marlys was raised. They had lived for many years on 2 acres in the country, just west of Cannon Falls a couple of miles, until moving in to Cannon Falls in 2008.
Roger spent each summer raising a large organic garden. They enjoyed camping in their motor home at local campgrounds, especially enjoying Frontenac State Park and Shades of Sherwood. During the winter, Roger would do sales work on the telephone, mainly organic fertilizer and natural food supplements. He was a member of Urland Lutheran Church where he and Marlys taught Sunday School and Bible study. He also served as president of Lutheran Men in Mission, and was involved with Big Brother Big Sister. He was currently a member of Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Marlys; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dean and Donna Anderson of Cannon Falls and Gary and Diane Taxdahl of Turtle Lake, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
