Robert Trinka Jr.

Robert Trinka, age 62, of Hastings died on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Bob was born on March 13, 1956, at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, the son of Robert and Betty (Shetka) Trinka. He grew up in St. Paul and Montgomery. After high school Bob enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps where he served his country as an MP in Oceanside, CA.  After his discharge from the service, Bob worked in the construction business for Carlson-Lavine Company. On April 26, 1986, Bob was united in marriage to Becky Schafer in Cannon Falls. They lived in Cannon Falls before moving to Hastings about thirty years ago. Bob was a member of the Roman Catholic faith, and of the Local 563 Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, canning, quilting, crafting, and woodworking. Blessed be his memory.

Survivors include his wife Becky, mother Betty; children Lisa (Matt) Freier, Mandy (Joe) Aldrich, and Jamie (Jon) Selin; grandchildren Andrew, Benjamin, Liam, Honey, Nora, William, Callie, and Kajsa; sisters Linda (Andy) Herrerra and Peggy (Creagg) Steinhouse; mother-in-law Lucille Schafer; and several sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert Trinka, Sr. and his father-in-law Rupert Schafer.

A Memorial gathering will be from 4-8:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN  55009. There will be a brief service at 7:00 pm. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in the spring.
