Richard (Rick) K. Schaefer, 51, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, died Thursday, January 22nd, as a result of injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am, Tues at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 W. Colville, Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 pm, Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls with parish prayer service at 7 pm.
Rick, son of Avery and Florence (Bosak) Schaefer, was born April 21st, 1963, in Austin, Minnesota. He attended Leroy-Ostrander High School and the Minnesota School of Business. He was employed at UPS for 31 years. Rick married Lynee Thorson on June 2nd, 1990 in Ostrander, Minnesota. The joy of his life were his 3 children: Logan, Chase and Rhett. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips with the boys, sport activities his children were involved in, family vacations, and was a diehard Minnesota sports fan. Rick was known for his contagious smile, quick wit and firm handshake. Rick is survived by his wife Lynee; children Logan, Chase, and Rhett; his mother Florence; siblings Gary (Tlisa), Craig (LeeAnn), Ronda (Steve) and Holly (Kerry) and numerous family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Avery. Casket bearers will be Gabe Schumann, Reed Hansen, Dustin Thorson, Brady Olson, Scott Schaefer, Ryan Schaefer, Luke Stettler and Adam Badger.
