Regina Budensiek

Regina I. (Lundell) Budensiek, age 78 of Cannon Falls, died on Thursday morning, May 21, 2009 at St. Mary's Hopsital in Rochester.

Regina was born March 13, 1931, the daughter of Rutherford and Blanche (Lindell) Lundell and grew up southeast of Cannon Falls. She had worked as a nurse’s aid at St. John’s Hospital in Red Wing and for the St. Paul Fire Insurance Company in St. Paul. She also had worked as a waitress. Regina married her best friend Floyd on July 9, 1977 on a hobby farm south of Goodhue (White Willow). She and Floyd loved traveling and had made two trips to Alaska, once to Hudson Bay, Canada, they also traveled to Hawaii. Regina loved being close to her brothers and sisters during her retirement years. She was always able to find laughter and humor through the difficult times. She loved to sing and dance. But most of all she loved to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

Regina is lovingly survived by her husband of 31 years, Floyd; her two sons, Randy (Karen) Stein of Red Wing and Guy (friend Marilyn) of Lakeville, MN; her grandchildren, Ryan Stein and Sara Stein, both of Lakeville; two step sons Mike (Patty) and family of Zumbrota and Keith and family of Farmington; her two sisters, Elaine Nelson and Jean (Curt) Duden, and two brothers, Melvin (Donna) Lundell and Dale Lundell, all of Cannon Falls; sister-in-law, Ione Lundell of Cannon Falls; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wayne Lundell.

Funeral service will be Saturday May 23 at 11 am in the St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Casketbearers will be Craig Scott, Rick Fox, Doug Stahnke, Danny Zimmerman and Jeff Lindell. Honorary casketbearers will be Mike McInerny and Willard Steel.

Memorials are preferred to the St. Ansgar's Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
