Rebecca Charnell

Rebecca Sue "Becky" Charnell, age 48 of Dundas, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday morning, August 1, 2012. Becky was born on February 24, 1964 in Ely, MN, the daughter of Martin and Ellen (Cooper) Starkovich. She graduated in 1982 from John F. Kennedy High School in Babbitt, MN. She married John R. Charnell on August 7, 2008 in Red Wing, MN. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, she was loved and will be greatly missed by all… She is survived by her husband, John; son, Chad Santa (fiancée, Cindy Barrientos) of Northfield; daughter, Lindsay Santa of Dundas; granddaughter, Angulie Santa; mother, Ellen Starkovich (Swede Sundberg) of Babbitt; brother, Martin "Bruce" (Claudia) Starkovich of Etowah, North Carolina; sisters, Lois (Steve) Opseth of Duluth and Diane Wilson (Mark Anderson) of St. Paul; and loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Starkovich; and brother, Gary Wilson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 12-1 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A luncheon will follow at Jean and Bob Beckman's home. Honorary pallbearers will be Sharon Lines, John and Sue Wilson, Jim and Cheryl Welt, Phyllis and Trent Malenke, Steve and Lois Opseth, Troy and Deb Madsen. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Argo Cemetery in Babbitt. Lunch will follow at Kel's Kitchen.
