Raymond Todd

Raymond L. Todd passed away 8/2/2015 at the Northfield Care Center at the age of 95. Raymond (Ray) was born January 18, 1920 in Billings Montana to A.B and Jessie (White) Todd. He attended Billings High School in Billings Montana, Jamestown College in North Dakota and The University of Washington, in WA, where he obtained a degree in engineering and drafting. Ray served in the military as a Flight Officer (Pilot) for the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for more than 30 years as a civil engineer for the Railroad, retiring in 1981. Ray was a dedicated member of First English Lutheran Church. He was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, eating out, playing games (Rummikub and 500), and watching sporting events. He was a dedicated volunteer at the nursing home in Cannon Falls and with AARP in their tax aide program for over 25 years. Ray was a kind, gentle and generous individual who cared and helped others. He left a lasting impression on all that he met. Ray is survived by loving wife Alice, sister Gertrude Bodin of Seattle WA and her step-son Robert (Bobbie) Bodin of Rockville MD; step-children: Diane (Jim) Allmann of Lakeville MN and their children David (Deb), Sue, Dean (Kim) and Jeff (Colleen), Daniel (Connie) Otterness of Vero Beach FL and their son Jeremy, Renay Ingledew of Farmington MN and her daughter Lauren, Kevin (Lisa) Otterness of Cannon Falls and their children Tasha (Dale) and Michael (Stephanie) and John (Sara) Otterness of Farmington MN and their children Ashley and Dylan; sister-in-law Shirley Todd of Billings MT, sister-in-law Evelyn Strack of Cannon Falls; niece Pamela (Curtis) Todd-Bevolden of Billings MT; nephew Greg (Kathie) Todd of Billings MT, nephew Ron (Becky) Todd of Billings MT, nephew Dave (Pam) of Billings MT, nephew Mark Strack (Cindy) of Onalaska WI, niece Beth Strack of Seattle WA, and many great nieces/nephews, great and great, great grandchildren. Ray is preceded in death by his parents A.B. Todd and Jessie (White) Todd, brothers Ralph, Houston "Bill" and Hardin Todd; brother-in-law Robert Bodin; sister-in-law Beth Todd; his first wife Edna "Jean" (Strack) Todd; step-daughter, Marjorie Bow; nephew Tim Strack, and step-grandson Zachary Otterness. Services for Raymond will be Tuesday August 11, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church, 511 West Belle St. Cannon Falls MN. 55009. Time of visitation will be 10-11 am with the funeral service at 11am. Interment with military honors will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to First English Lutheran Church, or the charity of your choice.
