Raymond Anthony Lee, Sr., age 81 of Leon Township, died at his residence on Monday morning May 12, 2008.
Ray was born on April 15, 1927 in Leon Township. He was a US Navy veteran serving from May 14, 1945 until his honorable discharge on July 16, 1946.
Ray would meet his future wife, Shirley May Lawrence, in Red Wing and they would marry on January 24, 1951 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Ray had worked for Armour's in South St. Paul for 29 years and for Sheldahl's in Northfield for 10 years.
Ray enjoyed the outdoors, and especially loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved doing carpentry projects. He was a member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church.
Ray is survived by his ten children, Mary Kilmer of Cannon Falls, Lester (Debra) Lee of Cannon Falls, Linda (Gerald) Wallaker of Wanamingo, Barb (Jon) Garrison of Ely, Marshal (Kim) Lee of Northfield, Dale Lee of Cannon Falls, Raymond Lee, Jr. of Cannon Falls, Penny (Noel) Paulson of Princeton, John (Jenny) Lee of Cannon Falls and Leslie Lee of Cannon Falls; 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley on April 12, 1999; son, Larry Lee on April 1, 1994; granddaughters, Danielle and Stacy; a great grandson, Logan; and his son-in-law Leslie Kilmer.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 2 pm at Spring Garden Lutheran Church with Pastors Nick and Cindy Fisher-Broin officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, and also one hour prior to the service at church.
Memorials are preferred to Spring Garden Lutheran Church.
Active casketbearers will be grandsons, Troy Lee, Jake Lee, Jeremy Wallaker, Marty Kilmer, Joe Brandon and Chasten Lee.
Honorary casketbearers will be grandsons, Corvett Garrison, Derek Garrison, Devon Garrison, Russell Lee, Ryan Lee and Dana Lee.
