Raymond Augustine

Raymond H. Augustine, age 93 of Goodhue, died Monday June 23 at the St. Brigid’s High Park, Red Wing, MN.

Ray was born November 9, 1914, the son of John and Mary (Vollmers) Augustine in Belvidere Township. He was a graduate of Red Wing Central High school with the class of 1932. Ray married the former Marion Benidt on March 30, 1941 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Goodhue, MN. He was a lifelong farmer of rural Goodhue. Ray enjoyed woodworking and music. He was a man who had time for all people.

Ray is lovingly survived by his children Bob (Carlene) Augustine of Dixon, IL, Karen (Gerald) Puppe of Goodhue, MN and Jim (Barb) Augustine of Red Wing, MN; 9 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren; his sister Lydia Berktold of Ellsworth, WI; sisters-in-law Elda Augustine and Leone Benidt; a special friend Marilyn Jonas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion and 12 brothers and sisters.

Casketbearers will be grandchildren Gary and Mark Augustine, David Puppe, Paula Puppe Hennen, Sarah Puppe Gold, Michael, Jeffrey, Benjamin and Peter Augustine.

Funeral Service 10:30 am Thursday June 26 in the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Goodhue. Visitation Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Burial in the church cemetery. Memorials to the St. John’s Lutheran School, Goodhue.
