Randy Thompson

Randy Thompson started his life's journey on earth on June 5th, 1956 and finished the job on May 13th, 2022.  He had a big, generous heart, but it did fail him in the end. He is loved and will be missed by many. Mostly his family, son Matt Thompson (fiancée Jess Lundeen), daughter Kelsey Thompson (Matt Perpich), 5 month old grandson Jack, and wife of 37 years, Teri (Ferguson) Thompson. He is also survived by siblings Lynn (Greg) Gilligan, Steve (Colleen) Thompson, Tammy (Mike) Mason, Mark (Linnea) Thompson, Carl Thompson and Mary Thompson; mother-in-law Judy Ferguson, in-laws Tami Glasbrenner, Rob (Jean) Ferguson, Ritchie Ferguson, Randy Ferguson, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, LaVon and Joe Thompson, father-in-law Jim Ferguson, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Linda Thompson, and brother-in-law Brian Glasbrenner.

In addition to his family and friends and especially his little grandson he fondly called Jacko, he loved dirt track races, mowing and his red Chevy pickup. He said he was never going to retire and just keep mowing until he died. He had just finished mowing a lawn and was in his pickup heading to the next one when he passed.

A private family service will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. A public visitation will follow from 4-7 pm.

In honor of Randy’s service with the US Army, memorial contributions will be directed to a veteran’s organization.
