Ralph Adler

February 15, 1922 — March 10, 2007

Ralph Garnet "Buzz" Adler, age 85 of Hastings and formerly of Welch, died on Saturday evening, March 10, 2007 at the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings.



Ralph was born on February 15, 1922 in Saint Paul, the son of Herbert F. and May P. (Nelson) Adler.



Ralph served with the U.S. Army during W.W.II, 3 1/2 years of which were in the Pacific, from October 30, 1942 until his honorable discharge on January 19, 1946.



He married Marjorie R. Wallin on April 3, 1948 at the Central Baptist Church in St. Paul. She died on July 25, 1979.



Ralph was employed from 1954-1968 with Allis Chalmers in the Construction Machinery Division. He was a sales representative, assistant sales manager, and later the regional representative. He was later the president for 5 years of the Minnesota Tractor Company in Bloomington.



He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Marjorie; son, Burt Adler; daughter, Coleen Vaught; and brother, Glen Adler, who died as a US Marine during W.W. II.



He is survived by his daughter, Leeann (Bill) Wiegand of Lakeville; son-in-law, Alan Ladd Vaught of Welch; grandchildren, Phillip Wiegand of Lakeville, Ladd, Lee, Dawn and Lane (Autumn) Vaught, all of Welch; two sisters, Patricia Meyers of Oakdale and Beverly Wilkoske of Newport; and nieces and nephews.



A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Assembly Area #5 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
