Phyllis Ann (Schafer) Hommes, age 76, of Cannon Falls, passed away suddenly on October 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis grew up in Clara City, MN, the daughter of Mary and Roy Schafer, with her six siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David, and her sister, Delores.
She married the love of her life, John Hommes, and they were together 55 years. They had four children, Jeff (Beth), Lisa (Tom), Joe (Susie), Tony (Tiffany); eight grandchildren, Beau (Katy), Michael (Hannah), Clare, Nora, Peter, Hayden, Molly and Ella; and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Kit.
Phyllis was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed a 25-year career at Gemini. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and quilting, hosting family and friends for delicious and celebratory meals, spending time watching her children and grandchildren’s activities, being an active member of St. Pius V, and loving those who loved her. She will be remembered as a bright light in our lives, who was always full of life and love.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 16 from 3-6 PM, with a prayer service at 5:30 PM, at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 17 at 11 AM, with visitation 10-11 AM, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, Cannon Falls. The mass will be live-streamed and able to watch below.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
