Phyllis Heinlein, 77, of Cannon Falls, passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2009 at the Cannon Falls Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls with the Reverend Jay K. Kythe, officiating. Burial will be in St. Pius Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls where there will be a 4:00 p.m. prayer service and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Phyllis R. Heinlein was born January 31, 1932 in Red Wing, Minnesota the daughter of William and Pearl (Lundell) Fox. She attended school in Randolph and Miesville where she was raised. She was united in marriage to John P. Heinlein on May 8, 1948 in New Trier. The couple made their home on a farm north of Cannon Falls and in 1962 moved to town. Phyllis was active in her church life, she taught catechism and served in the Womens Circle. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling and cooking.
She is survived by her sons; Andrew Heinlein and Bill (Cindy) Heinlein both of Cannon Falls, her daughter, LuAnn (Guy) Kochendorfer of Hastings, five grandchildren; Andrea, Lisa, Jeremy, Bryan & Scott, four great-grandchildren; Tanner, Emily, Logan & Caelan, her brothers; Wallace (Janet) Fox of Anaheim, California, Willis (Jolene) Fox of Brownwood, Texas, her sister, Mary (Edward) Hanson of Cannon Falls, her uncle, Othmar Fox of Miesville and her aunt, LaMyra Sumner of South Prairie, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, two brothers; LaVere and Dean and her grandson, Michael.

There will also be visitation at the church from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday.
