Phyllis Margaret “Peggy” Emery, age 93, of Stanton, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

Born 12/04/1927 in Stanton Township to Henry & Elizabeth (Robinson) Daniels. She was baptized at the Stanton United Methodist Church, attended Prairie Creek School (Dist 166) for 8 years and graduated from Randolph High School.

While growing up, Peggy worked at the grocery store in Stanton, at St. Olaf College and Rod’s Restaurant in Northfield.

She married Willard Emery on May 7th, 1949 at Stanton United Methodist Church. They lived on their farm near Stanton until 2007 when they moved into Stanton and enjoyed many years of keeping an eye on all of the comings and goings in the area.

She was an amazing cook and there was nothing she couldn’t can and preserve. Peggy always had a big garden, helped Willard with farming, raised chickens and calves along with raising four energetic boys.

Peggy was a 4-H leader, a member of Ladies Aide, Sunday School teacher and worked at the Stanton Town Hall during elections. She worked countless years at the Stanton Church’s annual chicken dinners and worked hard with the care and cleaning of the church.

She and Willard enjoyed traveling to Europe on farm tours. They also enjoyed long road trips around the U.S. with good friends.

She was a selfless, kind-hearted soul who loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved watching her birds outside the windows and spent many hours doing jig-saw puzzles and playing solitaire until the cards wore out.

Peggy is survived by her husband Willard; brother Lowell “Dick” Daniels; sons, Keith, Lee (Deb), Steven (Shirley), Glen (Teresa); grandchildren, Brian Emery (Alison), Bryce Emery, Jessica Emery, Katie Hoover (Kirk), Tracy Snaza, Craig Emery (Liv), Travis Emery (Emily), Rachel Stein (Andy), Alicia Emery, Rodney Emery (Casey); thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth, and by siblings Forrest Daniels, Marion Dack, Eleanor Dibble, William Daniels, Roger Daniels, Eugene Daniels, and Henry Daniels.

A Private Family Memorial Service is being held.
