Patricia Virginia Gusa, age 76, a lifelong resident of Cannon Falls, died on Wednesday morning, May 14, 2008 at the Angels Care Center, where she was residing following a stroke in April.



Pat was born on May 10, 1932 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Nelson) Wells. She graduated from the Cannon Falls High School in 1950.



Pat was a lifelong active member of First English Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married to Robert F. Gusa on September 8, 1956.

She worked at home, and later worked at various businesses in the area, including Princess Toys, Berquist, Red Owl, and the Sweet Shop.



Pat loved her family, and especially loved her grandchildren dearly! She was a fantastic cook, and an avid Twins fan. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and in her younger years she did crocheting.



She will be remembered most for her gentle, giving nature and her welcoming smile! She always wanted to take care of her family and friends.



She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Shawn) Fox of Cannon Falls; three grandchildren, Amanda, Aaron and Victoria; brother, Harold (Clareen) Wells of Robertsdale, Alabama and their family, Apryll, Merilee and Joe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Gusa of Stewartville, Nancy Gusa of Elgin, Marie and Walter Vogt of Rochester, Liz and Marv Mueller of Fountain City, WI and Elsie Schacht of Elgin, and their families; and cousins, Bruce (Mavis) Johnson and Keith (Betty Lu) Johnson, all of Cannon Falls.



She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bob on July 5, 2002.



A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls, with Pastor Phillip Ruud officiating. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.

Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
