Oscar Raymond Asleson, age 81 of Randolph and formerly of Roseau died on Sunday morning, April 19, 2009 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis.
Oscar was born on December 15, 1927 in Greenbush, Minnesota, the son of Asle and Nedaline (Buley) Asleson. He served with the US Navy during WWII, and later served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Oscar was a long-time employee of the Polaris Industries. He was married to Dorothy E. A. Schumacher on April 27, 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; his brother Arlo and sisters Gladys, Beatrice and Clara.
He is survived by his brother Buck of Embarrass and sisters Minnie of Molalla, Oregon and Velma of Roseau; and his loving friends and step children Nancy Schumacher and Jim Sipe of Randolph.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30th at 11:00 AM at the Minnesota Veterans Home Chapel of Peace (Building 15), 5101 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis, with Chaplain John Steiner officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo, Minnesota, where Oscar will be reunited with his loving wife Dorothy.
