Orville Olson

Orville LaVerne "Ole" Olson, age 83 of Cannon Falls and formerly of Randolph, MN, died on Saturday morning, June 23, 2012 at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls, where he has been a resident for the past three years. Ole was born on August 22, 1928 in Kendall County, Illinois, the son of Olai and Emily S. (Severson) Olson. He married Ellen "Pitsy" (Erickson) Morrill on March 11, 1983. Ole had two passions in life; he loved to fish and he loved to drive truck! He drove locally for Jim Simon Arena in Cannon Falls for many years. He is survived by his wife, Ellen "Pitsy" of Randolph; six children, Connie Baldwin of Edgewood, WA, Roseann (Carl) Traeger of West Allis, WI, Darle (Cathy) Olson of Morris, IL, Randy Olson of Verona, IL, Merri Jo (Rance) Welsch of Morris, IL, and Patti (Jeffrey) Baxter of Hanover, PA; son-in-law, Jay Transou of Verona, IL; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 4 step children, Melissa (Daniel) Robinson of Dennison, Kelly (Daniel) Rapp of Cannon Falls, Brian (Teresa) Morrill of Eagan, and Gregg Morrill (Sandy Hannah) of Cannon Falls; and 8 step-grandchildren, Blake, Chase, Riley, Madison, Ian, Tory, Chad, and Megan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard and Olai Olson; and two daughters, Carole Transou and Sue Olson. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 25 from 5-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Memorials may be given in Ole's memory to Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls, American Cancer Society, or charity of donor's choice. Funeral service and burial will take place in Illinois.
