OnaLee Zimmerman

OnaLee Adeline (Helgerson) Zimmerman, age 80, longtime resident of Cannon Falls, entered into eternal life on Friday afternoon, October 22, 2010 surrounded by her family. OnaLee was born in Inwood, IA on September 3, 1930, the daughter of Otto and Oneva (Eisland) Helgerson. She graduated from Randolph Public High School and attended Northern State in Aberdeen, SD before becoming an administrative assistant at Kid Duds where she worked for many years before retiring in 1997. OnaLee met Roger Zimmerman and they married on October 23, 1954, in Randolph. OnaLee was a lifelong member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Scrabble and other word games. She also enjoyed bowling as a part of the Cannon Falls Women's Bowling Association and spending time with her family. OnaLee is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roger; daughters, Leigh Ann (Erik) Schwarzkopf and Candace Zimmerman; grandchildren, Karl and Sigrid Schwarzkopf; sisters; Patricia Kondziolka and Clarice (Francis) Krenik; brothers, Roger (Carole) Helgerson, Lyle (Kay) Helgerson and Robert (Frieda) Helgerson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25 from 4-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls and one hour prior to service at church. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Carol Sinykin officiating. Interment will follow at Northfield Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Pet Adoption Center of Cannon Valley.
