Mike moved back to Minnesota in 2008. He worked for Life Rebuilders where he made many friends and served as their food service manager. Mike had a generous heart which was evident in the volunteer efforts he made serving meals at various homeless shelters in Minneapolis. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and loved spending time studying the Bible and encouraging and nourishing others. He enjoyed leading Bible Studies and recently received his pastoral certification. Mike had been active at Servant of the Shepherd Church in River Falls and Crossroads Church in Lakeville. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, golfing and going to the cabin where he and his family enjoyed many years together. Mike had a positive impact on the lives he touched and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his three children, Dylan Vangsness of Hudson, WI, Tyler and Abbey Vangsness of Maumelle, AR; mother, Sharon of Cannon Falls; brother Steve of Farmington, sister Michelle (Lyle) Zappa of Eagan and brother Jeff (Teresa) of Roberts, WI; nieces Ashley (Andy), Jaime (Matt), Sally; nephews David, Mitchell; great-niece Annabelle, and numerous friends.
