Michael Johnson

Michael Kent Johnson, age 60, of Cannon Falls and formerly of Prior Lake, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Michael was born on July 4, 1954 in Crosby, North Dakota the son of LaVern and Avis Johnson. He graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1972. Michael was the owner of Johnson Painting & Decorating. He enjoyed fishing, golf, astronomy, tractors and woodworking. He loved life, family and friends. Mike liked being out in the country and playing cards. He was a gentle, kindhearted man with a loving soul. Mike will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Michael is the beloved husband of Deborah; loving father of Harrison (fiancé Jessica), Anthony (Megan); grandpa of Cohen; son of Avis; brother of Darcy Arone, Bruce (Lisa), Lori (Steve) Goodwin, Tim (Sandra); son-in-law of Peter Spitt; brother-in-law of Greg (Jill) Spitt; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, LaVern R. and mother-in-law, Sharon Spitt. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 22 at 12 p.m., with visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., at Spring Garden Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Luke Johnson, Pete Johnson, Frankie Arone, Rob Arone, Jesse Johnson, Joe Goodwin, Nicholas Spitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Alissa Guse, Alissa Spitt, Katelyn Spitt, Grace Goodwin, Maia Johnson.
