Michael Hill

Michael Edward Hill, age 46 of Cannon Falls and formerly of Cottage Grove, died on Friday, October 13, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Michael was born on July 7, 1960 in Cannon Falls, the son of Frederick E. and Viola E. (Kiihbauch) Hill. As a youth, he was a Boy Scout and attended school in Cottage Grove. He graduated from Park High School in 1978. He attended Brown Institute to be a D.J., and later went on to serve with the US Army for three years, being stationed in Germany. He moved to California, where he took acting classes and was an extra in the movie "Diggstown." He later moved to Florida, where he resided with his brother, Fred. While in Florida, he was employed for several years as a forest ranger. Due to medical concerns, he returned to Minnesota to be with his family. He had recently moved to Cannon Falls and was living at the Park Street Apartments. Family and friends have always meant a lot to him. He enjoyed the many good times with his special friends and family, including his niece, Becky, friends Troy and Michelle, and his other nieces and nephews. He was very talented, and loved playing his guitar. He enjoyed playing with his dog, Red and riding 4-wheelers. He attended the River Church in Farmington. He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen "Kitty" (Gary) Robinson of Cannon Falls, Pat Brunelle of Glasgow, MT, Sandy Hill of Hastings, Beverly (Dan) Scott of No. St. Paul and Cindy Hill of San Antonio. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and his dog, Red. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred G.; and brother-in-law, David Brunelle. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening, October 17 at 7:00 pm, with a visitation from 5-7 pm, at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Phillip Ruud officiating. Interment will take place on Monday, October 23 at 10:15 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Donations can be made in Michael's memory to the Cannon Falls Food Shelf. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott, Bill and Dan Robinson, Robert Brunelle, Danny Scott and Troy Johnson.
