Melorie Ekstrom

Melorie M. Ekstrom, age 86, of Cannon Falls, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Gardens of Cannon Falls. Melorie Maxine Ekstrom was born on June 13, 1930 in Prairie Farm, WI, the daughter of Mathias and Minnie (Larson) Erlanson. She grew up in Wanamingo, and graduated from high school there in 1948. On August 26, 1950 Melorie was united in marriage to William L. Ekstrom at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. She was a long-time member of St. Ansgar's, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Melorie enjoyed cooking and catered for weddings and other events. She volunteered for the Cannon Falls Schools and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Bill (Shari) Ekstrom, and Jim (Shelby) Ekstrom, both of Cannon Falls; grandchildren, Renea (Jeff Anderson) Dalton, Chris Ekstrom, Jesse Ekstrom, Aaron (Jill) Ekstrom, and Arica Ekstrom; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Maddie, Max, Grace, Bethany, Jackson, Avery, Carter, Grayson, Madden, and Brooklyn; great-great-grandson Brock; brothers, Llewellyn Erlanson and Harvey (Bonnie) Erlanson; Jackson's mother Kelly Miller, and several nieces and nephews. Melorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in 1981, her brother Vern Erlanson, her sister Emogene Brekken, brother-in-law Austin Brekken, and her sisters-in –law Mildred Erlanson Avis Erlanson. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. Rev. Carol Sinykin will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Arrangements by Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls.
