Martha Lorentz

Martha Mary Lorentz, age 92 of Cannon Falls, died on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Cannon Falls Medical Center.

Martha was born on April 14, 1916 in Hampton Township, the daughter of Paul and Emma (Simon) Endres. She married Nicholas Lorentz on November 15, 1938 at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton. She loved to be with her husband and was always by his side. Martha loved spending time with her family and embroidering. She was an active member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, where she served in a circle with the CCW.

Martha is lovingly survived by her 15 children, Donna (Roger) Loesch of Hastings, Pat (Ron) Reinardy, Nick “Butch” (Joyce) Lorentz, Jim (Linda) Lorentz and Diane (Jim) Pagel, all of Cannon Falls, Sharon (Jim) Swanson-Johnson of Red Wing, Audrey (Morris) Mattson and Mary (John) Dibble, all of Cannon Falls, David (Peggy) Lorentz of Red Wing, Paulette (Jim) Conway, Debbie (Lester) Lee, Bernadette (Rod) Johnson, Stephen Lorentz, Michelle (Bruce) Nord and Judy (Tony) Nobach, all of Cannon Falls; 55 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Gergen of Hastings; sisters-in-law, Gert Endres, Mary Hoffman and Pearl Lorentz; brother-in-law, Irvin Freeberg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward and Mary Lorentz, and Francis and Kay Lorentz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas on May 9,1990; her parents, Paul and Emma Endres; son-in-law, Melvin Swanson; two grandchildren, Stacy Lee and Kevin Reinardy; sisters, Christine Schiller, twin sister Lucille Siebenaler, and Ethel Neibur; and brothers, Ambrose and Julius Endres.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 12 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Jay Kythe celebrating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., with a 3:30 p.m. rosary service, at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation from 9-10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at St. Pius V Catholic Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Martha’s four sons.
