Mark “Scruffy” Sabin, age 43, of Cannon Falls, lost his battle with depression on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
He was born on November 20, 1974 in Northfield, the son of Paul and Kay (Schwartz) Sabin. Mark grew up in Cannon Falls and graduated from Cannon Falls High School. He worked various jobs throughout his life including being a cook at the Country Kitchen, lawn care businesses, and as a mechanic for Arena Trailer Sales. On October 12, 1996, Mark married Cheryl Schabert at First English Lutheran Church.
Mark loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, spending time at the cabin, and trips to the Boundary Waters. He also liked playing cribbage, bowling, gardening, and watching scary movies. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church and the Masonic Oriental Lodge #34.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl; children, Erica Sabin and Ryan Sabin; mother, Kay Sabin; brother, Roger (Kris) Sabin and their children Quinn and Will; and his sister, Lynn (Scott) Lunny and their children Lillian and Emmett.
Scruffy was preceded in death by his father Paul; his grandparents; aunt Helen Klose, uncle, Ted Elbracht; aunt, Lois Wilhelmson; and special friends, Allen Hopkins and Ryan Edstrom.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 19 at 11:00 am at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 18 from 4-7:00 pm at the Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a Masonic service at 6:30 pm during the visitation. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 10-11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the Omada Behavioral Health Services or First English Lutheran Church.
