Lucille M. Peters, 85 formerly of White Rock, passed away on Monday morning, January 18, 2010 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center following a short illness.
Lucille M. Peters was born February 16, 1924 in Vasa Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Christine (Busch) Hedeen.
She attended country school and later graduated from Cannon Falls High School. She was united in marriage to Richard H. Peters on September 13, 1946. The couple made their home on Lucille’s family farm where she was raised and she continued to live her entire life on the farm until moving to Red Wing in December of 2009. She was a lifelong member of the Vasa Lutheran Church, was active in the White Rock & Vasa communities. She was the co-founder of White Rock Homemakers Group in the 1950’s and had been a member of the Goodhue Lioness Club. She especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren, quilting and had a love for the outdoors, watching the birds and animals and working in her garden.
Lucille is survived by her children; Gary (Gaynelle) Peters of Florence, Montana, Debra (Roger) Vanderwerf of Wyoming, Minnesota, Larry Peters and friend, Rosa Berduzco-Santeliz of Vail, Arizona, Brian (Sue) Peters and Ron (Liz) Peters all of Goodhue. Her grandchildren; Amy, Jill, Brandon, Jesse, Jeremy, Michelle, Michael, Mitchell, Matthew, Alicia, Kathryn, Heather & Cheryl, her great-grandchildren; Kyle, Ryan, Piper, Peyton, Sophia & Finnegan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Pete) and her brothers, Willmar & Lenzer.
