Lucille "Lucy" Becker, age 78 of Hampton, died of cancer at her home on Sunday, December 23, 2007.
Lucy was born on September 4, 1929 in Coates, MN, the daughter of John and Helga (Larson) Burr. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1947. She went on to graduate from nurses training at St. John's in Red Wing in 1950.
Lucy married Ralph Becker on February 9, 1952 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she had a variety of jobs to keep her busy. Lucy was a nurse for over 40 years, 22 of those years at the Cannon Falls Hospital. After retirement from nursing, Lucy worked at Evergreen Industries, Gemini and Midwest of Cannon Falls. She volunteered for Friendly Greeters, Hampton Boosters, Bible Study, St. Mathias Council of Catholic Women, Nurses Alumni and Joseph's Coat.
Lucy is survived by 10 of her 11 children, Kathy (Mark) Enderlein, Connie Bannie, Barb (Chuck) Kamholz, Gene (Mary) Becker, Bev (Charlie) Bauer, Steve Becker, Joan Brockman, Mary Jo Becker, Paul (Leslie) Becker and Patty Becker; 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; her sisters, Lois (Louie) McEvoy and Karen Feidt; her brothers, John (Lola), Larry (Janice), Roy (Bev), Ed (Arlis), and Joe; and her in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; son, Bill; and her sister, Ronnie Burr.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Enderlein, Jim Bannie, Nick Kamholz, Joe Bauer, Jonathan Brockman, Ryan Leifeld, Pat Enderlein, Brian Enderlein, Steven Becker and Nicholas Becker. Honorary pallbearers will be Joyce Beissel, Dixie Niebur, Diane Rother, Nancy Hatton, Phyllis Peterson, Marce Thurmes, Marion Beissel and Mary Beyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to your local hospice unit.
