Lucas Lodermeier

Lucas Lodermeier, age 34, of Zearing, Iowa, passed away July 11, 2016. There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, also at St. Cecilia. On Sunday July 17, there will be a second visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at St. Columbkill Catholic Church in Belle Creek (rural Goodhue), followed by graveside services at St. Columbkill Cemetery. Lucas Michael Lodermeier was born April 13, 1982 to William D. and Carlene K. (Elverson) Lodermeier in Sheridan, Wyoming. He graduated Ames High School and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Lucas and Kimberlee Ann Carlson were married May 4, 2013 at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa. He was a self-employed livestock truck driver. Lucas enjoyed grilling, duck hunting, spending time at the lake, and snow skiing. His trucking friends were like brothers to him. He loved his family and loved being a father. He was a great husband, father, and son. Those grateful for sharing in Luke's life are his wife, Kimberlee Lodermeier of Zearing and children, Elmer William, Emma June and Edwin Lucas; his parents, William and Carlene Lodermeier of Ames; his sister, Allison (David) Gier of Des Moines; his parents-in-law, Keith and Lee Ann Carlson of Goodhue; his brothers-in-law, Kristopher (Tina) Carlson of Goodhue and Kerry (Beth) Carlson of Goodhue; his sister-in-law, Kamie (Colin) Lodermeier of Goodhue; his maternal grandfather, Roger Elverson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Frances Lodermeier; his maternal grandmother, Clara Elverson; his godmother and aunt, Jennifer Ode; and his aunt, Kathleen Lodermeier. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account has been set up.
