Lou Everett Fleming, age 75 of Cannon Falls, died on Monday evening, December 19, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Cannon Falls Hospital.
Lou was born on May 23, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lou and Margaret Fleming. He attended school through 12th grade. Lou first married Charlotte Connor. Together they had two girls, Kelley and DonRenee. They later divorced. Then in 1978, Lou married Pam Madison and together they had Nicholas, Sean, and Kristen.
Lou and Pam moved from Des Moines to Minneapolis in 1979. They then settled in Cannon Falls in 1983. Lou was a hard worker and general jack-of-all-trades. His later work years until retirement, he spent as a foreman on roofing crews for Knight & Sons. During retirement, Lou appreciated a lucky trip to the casino, helping people with projects of all sizes, making large batches of peanut butter fudge during Christmas time, and being a grandpa. His biggest pride and joy was his grandchildren, all of whom he loved to spoil.
Lou will be most remembered for his fiery personality, a bottomless candy bucket, a love of late-night salty snacks, and a good plaid shirt.
Lou is survived by his wife, Pam of Cannon Falls; daughters, Kristen Fleming (Mike Henke) of Cannon Falls and DonRenee Fleming of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Becca Fleming of Cannon Falls; grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Brandon, Kyle, Kody, Mallory, Julia, Kaleb, and Maesyn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lou and Margaret Fleming; brother, Thomas Fleming; sister, Kathy Yarges; daughter; Kelley Miller; and sons, Nicholas and Sean Fleming.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, December 28 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls.
