Lorena Anderson

Lorena Josephine Anderson, age 90, a lifelong resident of Cannon Falls, died on Monday afternoon, March 26, 2007 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Lorena was born at home, with twin sister, Luella, on August 28, 1916 in Cannon Falls Township, the daughter of Fritz A. and Teckla G. (Larson) Anderson.
She was a lifelong member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, where she was baptized and confirmed, and was active in the Martha Mary circle.
Lorena was employed for 26 years as a riveter with Cronco Coolers in Minneapolis. She later worked at Augustana Nursing Home in South Minneapolis for 8 years, until retiring. She continued to volunteer at the nursing home, where she had accumulated 1500 hours of service. From 1984-2002, Lorena was the caregiver for her brother, Merle, who had Multiple Sclerosis.
She is survived by her two sisters, twin Luella McKinley and Marian Bergman; two brothers, Darrell "Andy" (Peggy) Anderson and Glenn Anderson; 19 nieces and nephews in the USA and 6 in Australia; and 19 grandnieces and nephews in the USA and 20 in Australia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Everett, Virgil, Morris, Arlyn and Merle Anderson, and foster brother, Darrell Widholm; infant sister, Mae; two nieces, Melody Anderson of USA and Cathy O'Neil of Australia.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Gary Schulz and Pastor Arthur Sharot officiating.
Interment will follow at Spring Garden Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at church on Friday from 2-3 p.m.
Memorials are preferred to the St. Ansgar's Endowment Fund or donor's choice.
