Linda Thompson

Linda M. "L.T." Thompson, age 63 of Dennison, died on Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2013 as a result of a motorcycle/deer accident on Sunday. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11:00 am Monday, July 15, 2013 at Vang Lutheran Church, 2060 County 49 Blvd, Dennison, with Rev. Terje Hausken officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. VISITATION will be held on Sunday from 4-8 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls and also for one hour prior to the service at church. Linda Marie Thompson was born August 1, 1949 in Red Wing, Minnesota to the parents, Byron and Phyllis (Sjoquist) Fox. She was a graduate of Cannon Falls High School and attended Mankato State University. While working at Chicago Ed's in Cannon Falls, she met Michael Thompson. They were united in marriage on May 3, 1969 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church and made their home in Cannon Falls for several years where they raised their sons. In 1980, they moved out to the Sogn Valley where they enjoyed being in the rural area. Linda was employed at Midwest of Cannon Falls for 25 years where she made many friends through the years. Most recently, Linda enjoyed connecting with people while working at Scofield's Drug and Gift. Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, and cooking with her sons. Linda also treasured going out on the open road and spending time with Mike on the motorcycle. Her life touched many and she will be greatly missed. Linda is survived by her loving husband Michael of Dennison; three sons, Christopher (Cecelia) of Buffalo, NY, Jon (Ann) of North Mankato, MN and Bradley (Juli) of Eyota, MN; grandchildren, Keegan, Amelia, Sophia, Sylvia, Elbie, Elliot, Byron, Landon, and Kerrick; sisters, Marlene "Punky" (Gary) Castle of Dennison and Shirleen Fox of Cannon Falls and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; and nieces Mary and Laura Castle.
