Linda Lee Singewald, age 75 of Cannon Falls, MN and formerly of Rosemount, MN died on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Hospitals – Methodist Campus, in Rochester, MN. She was surrounded by loving family.
Linda Lee Holtz was born on August 12, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Otto “Babe” and Eilene (Lorensen) Holtz. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1964 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University in Elementary Education. She taught for 3-years at Vista View Elementary School in Burnsville, MN before staying at home after the birth of her first-born daughter Shannon. Shannon has significant special needs, and Linda faithfully took care of her every day for the next 21-years until Shannon moved into the group home where she currently lives.
Linda married John “Jack” Singewald on January 27, 1968 in Savage, MN, and they raised four children together. Linda loved to travel the North Shore! Grand Marais, MN was her favorite place to be, especially “The Island” called Artist Point! She loved hunting for agates and always enjoyed a delicious sugar donut from the World’s Best Donuts shop. She loved watching the Vikings play football, and she could always find a good classic movie to watch on TCM. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and painting ceramic Christmas ornaments, but most of all she enjoyed making people happy. She was a great listener and was devoted to her family. She especially loved her time with her grandchildren. She was known as their “Tic-Tac Grandma” as there were always Tic-Tacs and gum around for the grandkids.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Jack; her children, Shannon of Mendota Heights, Brad (Lori) of Cannon Falls, Stacy (Steve) Vanderwerf of Willmar, and Blake (Molly) of Eagan; 7 grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, Calvin, and Peter Singewald, Abby, Daniel, and Michael Vanderwerf; brother, Bruce Holtz of Lakeville; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family.
