Linda Beckman

Linda Beckman, age 70, of Faribault, died Friday, September 27, 2019 at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Faribault. She was born on December 31, 1948 in Rochester, the daughter of Jerrol and Irma (Olson) Syverson. Linda grew up in the Roscoe area and graduated from Cannon Falls High School. She attended college in Golden Valley for two years. Linda worked for her father at the Rider Allis Chalmers dealership and then in his real estate office. On October 10, 1970, she was united in marriage to Donovan Beckman at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. The couple made their home in Northfield. Following their marriage Linda worked at a day care for a few years. She then opened her own day care in her home which she ran for 27 years. She retired in 2008 due to declining health. Linda was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield and had been a Girl Scout as a youth. Her hobbies included creating hand-made cards and crafting. She was talented in many ways and was a very kind person.

Survivors include her husband Donovan, daughter Tammy (Jay) Lazar, son Todd Beckman, grandchildren Mazen and Toren Lazar, sister Sara (Jim) Otto, brother Dale Syverson, nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Laura Mae.

Memorials are preferred to the Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 5 ^th at 1:00 pm at Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church, 34289 County 24 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN  55009. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Wangen Prairie Cemetery. Lundberg Funeral Home of Cannon Falls is assisting the family.
