Lee Anne Ellison, age 90, died peacefully in her apartment at Twin Rivers Senior Campus on Saturday, July 28, 2018, with family at her side.
She was born in Minneapolis on March 13, 1928 to Douglas and Muriel (Carrier) Robertson, and raised in Minneapolis and Robbinsdale. Lee married Richard Kronmiller in 1947 and they raised a family of four children in West Virginia. After her husband's accidental death in 1961, she was married to George Ellison and the family settled in Cannon Falls. Lee and George added two more children to the family and built a new home on a farm a few miles southeast of Miesville. Lee completed her college degree in Library Science at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and worked at the Goodhue Historical Society and then as a librarian in Cannon Falls.
Lee had a real zest for life, a wonderful sense of humor, and a great love for her many friends and family. She loved reading, cooking, was a formidable bridge player, and was a fantastic mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Lee is survived by her sister, Vicki Marsh of Grants Pass, OR; children, Steve Kronmiller of Red Wing, Susan Kronmiller (Babe O’Gorman) of Cannon Falls, James (Gail) Kronmiller of Merritt Island, FL, David (Alison) Kronmiller of Minneapolis, Chris (Claudia) Ellison of Leiden, The Netherlands, and Daniel (Kim) Ellison of Cannon Falls; and seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husbands, Richard Kronmiller and George Ellison; brother, James; her granddaughter, Jessica Fritz; and grandson, Logan Ellison.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at 3:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Cannon Falls. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. at the Guild Hall, next to the church.
Family asks that memorials be directed to the Logan D. Ellison Scholarship fund or the Church of the Redeemer.
