Leatrice Fredrickson, age 96, of Zumbrota and formerly of Cannon Falls, and Red Wing, died Monday at the Zumbrota Care Center.
Leatrice Joy Fredrickson was born on December 11, 1927, in Leon Township, the daughter of Elmer and Grace (Johnson) Anderson. She attended country school through the 8th grade, and then Cannon Falls High School. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Gordon Fredrickson at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. Leatrice worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Cannon Falls Community Hospital, and then as a Sales Associate at Picadilly Boutique in Cannon Falls, until her retirement. She and Gordon farmed until moving into the home he built in Woodland Heights, near Cannon Falls, in 1968.They moved to Red Wing in 1998.
Leatrice was a member of First Lutheran Church in Red Wing, and a former member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. She was active as a Sunday School teacher at St. Ansgar’s. She enjoyed baking, and going to Big Birch Lake near Hackensack for many years. She was a 4H Leader, a member of a homemaker’s club, and a member of the American Legion Post #64 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children Daniel (Judy) Fredrickson of Dodge Center, and Brenda (Douglas) Robinson, of Red Wing; grandchildren Troy Fredrickson, Rachel Fredrickson, Danielle (Gale) Schrom, Aaron (Angela) Fredrickson, Kristy (Patrick) Langworthy, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Robinson, and Laura (Erik) Hall, great-grandchildren Corbin,(Bobbylee), Jacob (Olivia), Isabel, Arianna, Gerritt (Hunter), Terra, Samuel, Elijah, Abram, Evelynn, Kaiynne, Axel, Knox, Douglas, Beda, and Lydia; great-great-grandchildren Jaxon, Griffon, Madalyn, and Brynlee, sister Jerrie Samuelson, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon,, sons David, James, and Timothy; sisters Kathleen (John) Bergstedt, Mary (James) Windhorst. Jane (Owen) Daniels, and brother-in-law Richard Samuelson.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the hospice organization of your choosing.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the cannon Falls Cemetery. The memorial service will be live streamed and may be viewed by clicking below.
