Kristie Olson

Kristie J. Olson, age 43 of Farmington, died October 1, 2013 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Farmington Lutheran Church 20600 Akin Rd, Farmington, MN with Pastor Kevin Woestehoff officiating. Interment will be in the Spring Garden Lutheran Cemetery, Leon Township. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00-9:00 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Your presence "in pink" is requested as we celebrate Kristie's life. Memorials may be directed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Kristie Jane (Lundell) was born August 2, 1970 in Cannon Falls to Charles and Rosemary (Regenscheid) Lundell. She grew up in Cannon Falls and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1988. Kristie went on to attend Dakota County Technical College for her administrative training. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jim Olson, on May 5, 1990 at the Spring Garden Lutheran Church where she had also been baptized and confirmed in her faith. Immediately following their marriage, Kristie moved to California with Jim where he was stationed in the U.S. Marine Corps. Kristie and Jim returned to Minnesota in 1993. After returning to Minnesota, Kristie supported Jim while he attended college. She continued her career as an administrative assistant and was a longtime employee with Wabash Capital Management in Minneapolis. She enjoyed her job greatly and treasured the friends that she made at work. Her family was the utmost priority in her life. Kristie dearly loved her two beautiful children, Annika, born in 2000, and Garrett, born in 2004. She focused her life around them, nurturing and caring for them and helping them along the path in their faith. Kristie's Saturday morning bible study group gave her great joy as she grew in her own faith while spending time with friends that she loved. She loved cuddling with her kids, camping with family and friends, Disney cruises with family and friends in the Caribbean, gardening, crafting and Black Friday shopping. Kristie was known as a positive person who always brightened everyone's day with her beautiful smile. Even though she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, she never let it get the best of her and refused to let it control her life. She lived her life to the fullest and always put other people first. Kristie is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jim of Farmington; children, Annika and Garrett; mother, Rosemary Lundell-Pagel of Cannon Falls; sisters, Lorrie (Gary) Samuelson of Cannon Falls, Kathy Lundell (and friend Pete Gjestvang) of Red Wing, Joan (Mark) Ekeren of Northfield; brothers, Stan (Linda) Lundell of Cannon Falls, Charles Lundell (and friend Susie Sullivan) of Cannon Falls and Elmer (Anne) Pagel of Cannon Falls and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Charles. Casketbearers will be Stan Lundell, Charlie Lundell, Elmer Pagel, Eric Lundell, Brett Novotny, Brad Novotny, Brian Lindahl, Mason Lundell
