Kirk P. Mahle, age 62 of Cannon Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at his home in Cannon Falls, following lengthy health complications.
A memorial service celebrating Kirk’s life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Square Park in downtown Afton on St. Croix Trail between 34th and Upper 34th. A private family gathering is to be held earlier on Thursday at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
Kirk Parker Mahle was born on July 23, 1947 in Minneapolis, the son of James Parker Mahle and Polly Ann (Kirk) Mahle. He was raised and educated in Minneapolis and enjoyed traveling. He loved biking and sailing and was a man of the wilderness and water. A proud parent, Kirk lived his life to bring joy to the people he cared about.
Kirk is survived by his daughter, Robin Mahle of Mound; son, Tom Mahle of Urbana, Illinois; three sisters, ChrisAnn (Harry) Albaugh of Camarillo, California, Jo (Dale) Freitag of Austin, Texas and Tina Mahle of Oklahoma; and also many cousins, nieces and nephews.
